Jay brings more than 30 years of deep investment industry experience to his role, serving as a key leader at Heritage for over a decade. He directs the firm’s investment strategy, research agenda, and portfolio construction across public and private markets.
As chair of the firm’s Investment Policy Committee, Jay leads the development of Heritage’s investment philosophy, manager selection process, and risk framework. His steady, analytical approach ensures clients benefit from institutional-grade rigor paired with clarity and a focus on long-term family outcomes.
Before joining Heritage, Jay spent 12 years as a Portfolio Manager at Eagle Asset Management and previously worked at Thompson, Siegel & Walmsley LLC. He earned his B.S. in Commerce with a concentration in Finance from the University of Virginia, holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation and is a member of the CFA Society of Virginia.
Jay is also deeply engaged in nonprofit investment governance and youth services. He serves on the Board of Trustees for Elk Hill Farm and on the Elk Hill Foundation Board. In addition, he plays an active role with the University of Virginia Medical Foundation, where he serves as Board Treasurer and is the retiring Chair of the Investment Committee.
Jay and his wife have been married nearly 30 years and have three children.
